The Argentine Video Game Development Industry Observatory is a public–private initiative promoted by the National University of Rafaela (UNRaf, Santa Fe) and strengthened by ADVA. Since 2017, it has aimed to generate knowledge through the collection of periodic metrics from the sector.

This work makes it possible to better understand the needs of our industry and those who make it up, and supports the design and management of public and private policies, both in the industrial and educational fields. This effort will be sustained over a period of 10 years.

The report aims to maintain an up-to-date database of the video game development sector in Argentina. Specifically, it seeks to assess the current state of the companies that comprise the sector in terms of general characteristics, human resources, financing, revenue, international relations, main activities, types of developments, among other aspects. All information collected is strictly confidential.

The work is structured as follows:

• Presentation of the Observatory and definition of the report’s objectives.
• Explanation of the methodological framework.
• Presentation of the survey results, organized into the following sections: legal aspects, human resources, revenue, video game development activity, and financing.
• Development of final remarks, highlighting the most relevant findings from the data collected.

In the near future, the call for participation will open for the Argentine Video Game Industry Observatory (UNRaf) survey, which will analyze the current year.
